iPhone 4 now on top first time iPhone4.com And WhiteiPhone.com bought by Apple.inc

Over a year since the launch of the its latest iPhone offering, Apple has finally acquired domain name iPhone4.com, just days after purchasing WhiteiPhone.com for an undisclosed amount. Both domain names direct to the iPhone 4 product page which interestingly, according to a Retrevo study, one in three people mistake an iPhone 4 for a 4G capable phone.

According to a report over at Fusible, The Whois record for iPhone4.com changed two days ago from “Whois Privacy Services” to “Apple Inc”:

The Cupertino company has a habit of being somewhat unpredictable when it comes to (re)gaining valuable domains for some of its products. It’s certainly interesting that Apple has chosen to secure the domain of a product which is nearing the end of its reign as Apple’s flagship smartphone. Registrant records reveal that it doesn’t in fact own iPhone5.com, iPhone6.com, iPhone7.com, iPhone8.com etc. Even more intriguingly, the company hasn’t (yet) decided to acquire iPad.com, despite the tablet being over a year old. In fact, the company doesn’t own a single iPad-related domain. Currently, the owner of iPad.com enjoys a healthy influx of traffic, with in excess of 100,000 visitors in just a short period of time. iBooks was released by Apple as a supplementary app for the iPad, yet Apple also doesn’t own iBook.com, iBooks.com or iBookstore.com or anything of the like.

It would seem like a given that a company of Apple’s stature would secure such domains as quickly as possible. There doesn’t appear to be a correlation between which domains it chooses to purchase, and which it seemingly ignores. It paid reportedly over $1m for iPhone.com from a businessman back in 2007, and owns iPod.com, iMac.com, iWork.com, iTunes.com etc. – but interestingly enough, not MacBook.com.

Squatting on future Apple domains certainly looks like a good bit of business, and with Apple’s inability to secure domains quickly enough, there could be many future opportunities for people with a little initiative to make themselves instant millionaires courtesy of Jobs & Co.

iPhone 5 Launch in this September

A worker at China Mobile, China's state run mobile carrier which officially offers the iPhone in China, claims that Apple is indeed releasing the iPhone 5 in September. China Mobile has had an outstanding partnership with Apple and is bound to take it to new heights.

It is also being reported that Tim Cook, the COO at Apple has been having meetings with the higher ups at China Mobile, possibly to discuss on terms related to the iPhone 5 release. Previously, it has been rumoured that Apple may push back launch of the new iPod line up in September and may release iPhone 5 along with iOS 5.

The China Mobile worker posted this news on a Twitter like microblogging service, Weibo. However, the post was later deleted. While the legitimacy of this source can be questioned, the post being deleted within hours of getting noticed is bound to make the rumour mill churn.

Up till now, we have heard rumours that the iPhone 5 will have a dual-core A5 processor with an eight megapixel camera and dual LED flash. Let's see if Apple really does release the iPhone 5 this September.

Next cheap iPhone Nano

According to a report published today, the release of the next-generation iPhone has been pushed back to September, in order to release it simultaneously with iOS 5. According to people familiar to the matter, we might also see a cheaper scaled-down version of the iPhone, similar to the iPhone 4, targeted for developing countries.

Just yesterday, the whole iPhone community was on fire when news broke that the next-generation iPhone would be released in August. That even prompted Joshua Hill, developer of jailbreaking GreenPois0n, to promise a jailbreak for that next-generation iPhone in September, if we indeed saw an iPhone 5 the month before.

However, according to two people familiar with the matter, the next iPhone will indeed not be a significant upgrade, expected to include a dual-core A5 and an 8-megapixel camera, which is consistent with previous rumors. Indeed, we’re unlikely to see any major upgrade in features or the casing, which are both expected to be identical to the current iPhone. The next-generation iPhone will come out at the same time as iOS 5, according to this report.

Maybe more importantly, we’re now learning that Apple might be in the process of finalizing a cheaper iPhone, aimed to attract customers in developing countries. While details are still scarce, the source points out that such a cheaper model would be identical to the 1-year-old iPhone 4. While there’s no indication whether we’ll see this smaller model in September or sometime next year, this continues a long chain of rumors that started back in 2007 which suggested that Apple could be working on an "iPhone nano".

Lastly, it was also revealed that the future iPad, likely to come out next year, will feature a higher-resolution screen, about one-third higher than the one found on the iPad 2, as well as more responsive multitouch. The iPhone 4 included a much-increased resolution, marketed as "Retina Display", although it was left out of the iPad 2, likely due to its larger screen size.

In the world of never-ending rumors, sometimes "confirmed" reports aren’t necessarily true. Yesterday’s rumor that we’d see an iPhone redesign was quickly squashed, leaving us to what we suspected before: a smaller iPhone upgrade with improved hardware but no new features. What we’re sure about, however, is that Apple is starting to wind down manufacturing of the current iPhone, which is a pretty accurate indication that a new one is coming.

Apple is going to Release mini iPhone?

Bloomberg reports that the next-generation of iPhone (iPhone 5 / 4S) will feature A5 dual core processor which currently included in iPad 2. Sources also claimed that iPhone 5 / 4S will support 8-megapixel camera.
undefined

The report also claims that the “more advanced camera” will feature an 8-megapixel sensor, something that Sony’s Howard Stringer had said earlier this year. It’s an increase from what is currently used in the iPhone 4, which is a 5-megapixel camera. Similarly there have been previous reports have an 8-megapixel camera throughout this year.
Something interesting came at the end of Bloomberg report, that Apple is working to finish a cheaper version of iPhone that would be targeted to developing countries which would use similar chips to what are included in current iPhohne 4 but it may be smaller in size.

iPhone 4 Is Now The Most Popular Camera On Flickr

The iPhone 4 is now the most used camera on Flickr. That’s camera, not camera phone.

While the iPhone 4 has been the most used camera phone for some time, Flickr’s numbers now show that the fourth generation handset is actually now the source of most photos on the site.

What’s most interesting is the list of expensive cameras the iPhone has beaten to the top spot. Canon’s EOS 5D MkII, EOS Digital Rebel XSi and the Nikon D90 have all fallen places in Flickr’s rankings, thanks to the iPhone 4′s popularity.

When compared to other smartphones, the iPhone 4 is obviously top dog. In fact, Apple is so dominant in the space that four of the top five smartphones to have photos published to Flickr are iOS devices with the iPhone 3G, 3GS, 4 and iPod touch being joined by just the one Android device; HTC’s EVO 4G. Are Apple buyers just a more creative bunch who like to share their content with the world, or is Android’s plethora of phones simply diluting the platform’s result?

Apple’s iPhone 4 and its 5 megapixel shooter have been climbing the charts ever since Apple introduced its current wonder-phone back in June of last year. As well as taking damn fine stills, the camera is also capable of shooting 720p video.

As TUAW points out, this isn’t the first time an iPhone has held onto the top spot in Flickr’s charts. Apple’s first iPhone also found itself in the number one spot back in 2008, despite its underwhelming 2 megapixel camera. The iPhone 3G also topped the charts – again using a relatively low-specced shooter.

For us, the reason for the iPhone’s popularity in Flickr boils down to one line:

What is it people say about the best camera being the one you have with you at the time?

We’re sure you’ll agree.

Official App for iTunes Festival 2011

Today, Apple released the official app for the iTunes Festival 2011 which is scheduled to kick off on 1st July.

The iTunes Festival is a music festival which is held every year in London. As the name implies, the series of concerts is sponsored by Apple.

The first festival was held in 2007 with a modest lineup of artists. With each year, the lineup expanded both in terms of number of artists and overall popularity of said artists.

This year’s festival will begin on 1st July at The Roundhouse art center in London. There will be 62 bands performing over 31 nights. The tickets are given away for free to people with iTunes accounts through competitions. You can apply for tickets from the official website.

From the app’s official page:

31 nights. 62 bands. 1 official app.

This July, the iTunes Festival returns to London, England. Featuring 31 consecutive nights of incredible live music in one of the UK’s best venues, this is the hottest ticket in town. The lineup includes Coldplay, Linkin Park, Foo Fighters, Paul Simon, Bruno Mars, Adele, My Chemical Romance, Duran Duran, Lang Lang and Moby — to name just a few of the great shows you can watch live on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.

Download the official app now to explore the lineup in more detail and watch the shows LIVE or on demand for a limited period from wherever you are in the world. You can even invite your friends to watch on the big screen with AirPlay support for streaming the gigs to your Apple TV.

2011’s lineup features some of the biggest names in the music industry: Arctic Monkeys, Jimmy Eat World, Coldplay, Kasabian Linkin Park, Moby, Foo Fighters, Bruno Mars and Adele are just a few names from the 62 band lineup.

The official app comes with the ability to livestream the band performances on an iOS device from anywhere in the world (provided you have an internet connection, of course). The app also uses Apple’s AirPlay technology so you can invite your friends over and watch it all on your Apple TV-connected HDTV.

iTunes Festival 2011 works on iPhone, iPod touch and iPad. It requires you to be on iOS 4.1 or later. You can download the 9.7MB file from the link pasted below.

Gevey PRO is better than Gevey Ultra?

http://cdn.thetechjournal.com/wp-content/uploads/images/1106/1307787061-gevey-sim-working-on-ios-5-video-1.jpg

Today we released review About latest Gevey Ultra sim from here
as you can see Gevey Ultra sim don't need to dial 112 but you have to wait until it run it process to the end, that means 112 dial process time you wast before (maybe more that that)
in Gevey PRO sim you need just only 2 minuites to unlock your iPhone but in this method will get 5 or 6 minuites to unlock your Phone
Gevey Ultra sim from applenberry i think this is the wast mistake they made ever, they called this one untethered, but i see this is the most tethered method i ever saw
before the gevey ultra sim we did the same way
1st accept screen
2nd dial 112
and turn on the flight mode (pretty easy) why wast our money for this?
and will get no sim massage then turn off the flight mode
you done
and you can see the time through this process

but in this Gevey ultra thing
you can't
and you will get 2 accept screen to suck it
Gevey Pro just one and that's the way it is
how much time will it get to unlock with gevey ulra? 5 or 6 minutes ? or forever ?

my opinion don't buy this crap just use Gevey PRO sim it's better signal better solution for unlockers

Gevey PRO sim - Low Risk
Gevey Ultra sim - High Risk (Because of the cydia if cydia crashed your network will crash forever)

GEVEY Ultra SIM Permanent iPhone 4 Unlock Without Dialing 112

GEVEY Ultra is a new iPhone 4 unlock SIM that doesn’t require dialing 112 emergency number. All you need is this custom SIM card and 15 minutes of your time to have your iPhone 4 permanently unlocked, on any baseband, running any firmware, up to iOS 5!

GEVEY is a company that manufactures custom SIM cards that streamline this process. This method works with all released version of iOS 4, as well as iOS 5 beta, with basebands 1.59, 2.10, 3.10.1, 4.10 and 4.10.1. If you’re willing to spend some money, this can be more suitable than a software unlock.

If you’ve been reading this blog, you might have already heard of a previous version of GEVEY, which we reported on earlier this year. This updated method streamlines the process, by requiring less setup after the card is inserted: you won’t, for example, have to call 112 for this hack to work, which should address any legality issues.

You’ll need:

  1. A jailbroken iPhone 4 running Cydia (you’ll need this to install a tweak before this process begins)
  2. GEVEY Ultra SIM card (will soon be available from here)
  3. Some knowledge on how the iPhone works.

Setting it up:

Step 1: Remove your SIM card, by inserting a paper clip into the pinhole next to your SIM slot, and cut it to fit the tray that should come with the GEVEY package. Never cut into the circuitry.

Step 2: Launch Cydia and add the following repository: cydia.furiousmod.com. Then locate the "FuriousMod" package and install it. After that’s done, a "No SIM card installed" error will pop up, that’s OK. Before proceeding, make sure your phone is turned off.

Step 3: Place the GEVEY SIM on the tray, along with your own SIM on top of it. Make sure both cards are on the tray, then insert it back into your phone.

Step 4: Power your phone back on and wait around 40 seconds for your signal to be detected. Ignore any errors and don’t interact with the device until your phone picks up the signal.

Step 5: In order to get 3G, turn on Roaming Mode by going into Settings > General > Network and selecting "Data Roaming".

You’re Done!

ApplenBerry, GEVEY’s distributors, has released a video showcasing this hack:

This new SIM will be available "really soon", according to ApplenBerry, although no release date has been set. Also, keep in mind that some knowledge on modifying your iPhone is highly advised, or else you’ll run the risk of permanently damaging it. We’ll update this article once the hardware is released.

UPDATE 1: GEVEY Ultra SIM is now available for $39.99. More info here.

iOS 5 Features - Download - Release Time - Everything You Need To Know !

Starting with over 200 million iOS devices and that makes iOS the #1 mobile operating system. With more than 44% of the market... They sold 25 million iPads in 14 months. Over 130 million books downloaded. 90,000 apps made specifically for the iPad. Apple has paid out more than 2.5 billion to devs. Now lets talk about the future of iOS: iOS 5.

Features

Notifications:
They've built something better than you expected for notifications. They've built something called Notification center. It's a single place combining all your notifications. Just swipe your finger from the down up to reveal the notification center. It shows you everything, Facebook notifications, Twitter and everything you need. When you get a text message, you get a nice notification at the top there. You can dismiss it, or tap there and you can always go back later.

Newsstand:
It's all about reading news and magazines. They've added subscription lately. Some incredible titles are doing it, like national geographic. They created a single place in the app store that combines them all at one place, purchase them, and they're automaticly downloaded right on the home screen

Twitter:
They've made it more and more easier. You go to settings app, and you can just enter your credentials and all your apps will already be logged into your twitter. They added twitter to many of our apps. Like Cameras, photos. There is a new option to share: Tweet and it opens a nice sheet. YOu can get a countdown and even optionally add your location. It's that simple. In addition, you can tweet articles from safari, websites. VIdeos from youtube, and even apps

Safari:
iOS 5 is making safari even better. The first is reader. It's available up here as abutton. When you read a story, you tap that button and we extract all the info. Even if it's a multi page story. WE put it in a single scrolling story. Really convenient. Second one is reading list. It's a simple convenient way for you to save a story to roead it later. When you add something, it will add it to reading list on every iDevice. Even on the mac or Windows. When you email now too, you can have the content in the content window. It works great on iPad and iPhone. Really nice.

Tab Browsing:
This features enables you to jump on the mac or any other iOS device easily.

The Reminder Up:
It's a new revemaped system of the reminder. That's it.

Camera:

WWDC 2011: iOS 5 To Have Android-Like Notifications, Widgets, BlackBerry-Like Messaging

It looks like that Joshua Topolski of This is my next and the editor in chief of Engadget has got its own iOS 5 and he reveals some of its features. He says iOS 5 will sport BlackBerry-like notifications bar at the top of the screen which looks like an imaged leaked earlier today. “Messages will appear and then slide back up in a unobtrusive manner, similar to webOS”, the author writes.

Topolsky also describes a dedicated notifications window and – yes, widgets. The lock screen will also provide access to notifications “through a pulldown window which you reach by swiping at the top of the screen downward… just like Android”, Topolsky writes.

As for the BlackBerry-style messaging, the source claims that “Apple is readying it’s own MMS / SMS protocol which will be a native part of the phone” and have the ability to “automatically identify iOS users and route the message accordingly”, which is a bit murky, but that’s what the source said.

Star Trek Video Game Announced for Summer 2012 - Kirk and Spock Headline New Co-Op Adventure

Star Trek announcement

Star Trek, a brand new co-op adventure video game under development by Digital Extremes (The Darkness 2), was announced for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PCs for summer 2012. I'm showing great restraint in not leading with "set phasers for fun," but considering the game casts player as Kirk and Spock from the J.J. Abrams Star Trek reboot, I'm very, very giddy to see it at this year's E3 2011.

According to Paramount Digital Entertainment, Star Trek will continue the adventure from the movie, with an original story and "unprecedented co-op experience." The story will revolve around Kirk and Spock working together to stop a legendary enemy race bent on conquering the galaxy. Any bets on which race? I'm going with Tribble, because that would be awesome.

"Star Trek challenges the boundaries of co-op gameplay with a galactic adventure that gamers and fans have never experienced," said Tom Lesinski, President of Paramount Digital Entertainment. "Working closely with the Star Trek filmmaking team throughout development, the game is sure to deliver AAA production values, a wide variety of gameplay and all the action you would expect from the hit franchise. This will be the definitive Star Trek gaming experience."

God of War writer and BAFTA award winner, Marianne Krawczyk, will craft the story for the game, in collaboration with Bob Orci and Alex Kurtzman, the writer/producers of the new Star Trek movies. In a similar spirit, Digital Extremes will be working closely with Bad Robot, K/O Paper Products and Damon Lindelof to insure the game meets a higher standard of Star Trek game than say...err.. this one.

Star Trek is coming for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PCs in summer 2012.

iCloud replaces iTunes for iOS device syncing, doesn’t replace MobileMe?

John Gruber at Daring Fireball has published his thoughts on what’s going down tomorrow with iCloud at WWDC. In short: “Don’t think of iCloud as the new MobileMe; think of iCloud as the new iTunes.” Gruber notes that the iOS syncing process of today requires a user to USB tether their device to their computer in order to sync music, video, apps, etc. iCloud might just be the future of iOS device syncing.

The ideal concept would be that a user can upload all of their media to the cloud, sign into their iOS device, and it will be ready to go.
But in short let’s just think about the ways that iCloud might be a major, dare I say game-changing, step away from USB tethering between iOS devices and iTunes running on your Mac/PC. Consider just the new out-of-box experience. Rather than “Take this out, plug it into your Mac or PC (after first making sure your Mac/PC is running the latest version of iTunes), wait for it to sync before you actually play with it”, you might get something like “Take this out, turn it on, sign into your iTunes account, and start playing with it.”
